Below are short descriptions of each elective. Class rooms will be determined after signups.

The Envy of Eve: Finding Contentment in a Covetous World – Ladies Study led by Kristen Van Der Weide. The class will follow the book of the above title written by Melissa B. Kruger. Students are encouraged to purchase a book for this study. Book synopsis - The Envy of Eve guides readers to understand how desires grow into covetousness and what happens when this sin takes power in our hearts. Covetousness chokes out the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, allowing discontentment to bloom. The key to overcoming is to get to the root of our problem: unbelief-a mistrust of God's sovereignty and goodness.

Governing Our Time God's Way – Dave Knudson provides biblical answers to numerous questions associated with priorities and time management. Questions include: What does intentional living look like?; Why are margins necessary in the way we use our time?; Whose agenda are we influenced by?; How fear of failure can hinder us from experiencing all God has for us?; How to overcome our haunting past?; When is enough enough?; How do we come to grips with the future uncertainties of life?; What are we passionate about and why?; Is being pragmatic always the best way in God's eyes?; What legacy do you want to leave behind when you die?; How do we deal with decline and adjustments that come into our lives?; How do we juggle all the roles and responsibilities God has given us?; How do the mercies of God impact how we serve the Lord?

Won By One - A Tool for learning basic Bible teachings and sharing. Co-taught by Pastors George Hatfield and John Sharbaugh. We will discuss the basic doctrines. You will be supplied a copy of Won By One. About the book: “Won By One Bible Study uses only the Bible as our source of study because God has promised us that the Bible always has the right answer for life--both now and later.
Questions about life, both now and later, are answered as you study the Bible either on your own or with an individual instructor in the WBO sessions using the Bible as the textbook and the WBO Bible study as a guide. Each lesson answers one of many questions.”

Relational Wisdom – Improving awareness of and engagement with self, others and God. Pastor Scott Owen will lead this study utilizing insights from Ken Sande’s (Peacemaker) RW 360 training. Ken Sande: “Relational wisdom, in essence, is the ability to live out Jesus’ two Great Commandments, namely, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 22:37-39). Relational wisdom may also be defined as your ability to discern emotions, interests and abilities in yourself and others, to interpret them in the light of God’s Word, and to use this insight to manage your responses and relationships successfully.”
